WHAT WE BELIEVE

Please find our Statement of Faith below.  These truths have been held for many years by the members of this Assembly and we continually strive to maintain what we believe to be God's Standard.

1.  THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God

2.THE TRINITY

We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost and that these are one in God.

3. THE CHURCH

We believe that the church consists of all persons who have been regenerated by the Holy Ghost and made new creatures in Christ Jesus.

4. THE SAVIOUR

5. THE HEALER

6. THE BAPTISER

We believe that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God, and that through the death and risen power of Christ all who believe can be saved from the Penalty and Power of Sin.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Healer of the body, and all who will walk in obedience to His will can claim Divine Healing for their bodies.

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Baptiser in the Holy Ghost and that His baptism, with signs following is promised to every believer.

7. THE COMING KING

8. THE FRUIT

9. ATTENDANCE

We believe in the personal return (The Rapture) of our Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that every believer will produce the ninefold fruit of the Spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance.

We believe that every believer should be at every meeting held in the Assembly whenever possible in order that they may progress in Divine things and help to establish that local witness of the Church.

10. THE MINISTRY

11. THE FUTURE STATE

12. THE ORDINANCES

We believe that God has given some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and some teachers for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of Ministry, for the edifying of the Church.

We believe in the eternal conscious bliss of all true believers with Christ in heaven and also in the Eternal conscious punishment in hell of all Christ rejecters.

Breaking of Bread -

We believe that on the first day of the week in the morning, that the local Church should assemble to remember the Lord in the Breaking of Bread and drinking of the wine showing forth the Lord's death until He comes.

Believers Baptism -

We believe that all adult believers should follow the Lord in baptism by total immersion.

ABOUT US

Dykehead Mission Hall has been part of the town for over 136 years.  It was established in 1888 when a group of Christians had a vision to do work for God in Shotts.  A small hut was built in Shottskirk Road and services have been conducted there until the present day.  A new hall was built in 1953 and has been extended twice over the years.

We are a small friendly Evangelical Church and preach the Gospel, 'The Good News'.  We believe that God's Son Jesus came to earth to live a perfect life, died on a cross and on the 3rd day rose again so that if we believe in Him we can be saved and have eternal life.

LEADERSHIP

The following people make up the leadership of the church:
